I have taken piano from a teacher in Starkville, MS named Dixie Clark for 8 years. Mrs. Dixie is treasurer of the Golden Triangle Music Forum (GTMF) and a member of the Mississippi Music Teachers Association (MMTA), which holds state tryouts and competitions every year. She is also a member of the National Federated Music Club (NFMC), and the Mississippi Federated Music Club (MFMC), of which her club “Dixie Notes” is a part.
Mrs. Dixie is one of the best teachers in Mississippi and I have learned a lot from her. She is also one of the best pianists I have met and regularly is asked to provide music for numerous weddings, funerals, banquets, etc. She is a great improviser and knows her chords and theory so well that she can improvise on the fly.
Mrs. Dixie teaches students from Pre-K through high school. Her students excel at state competitions, festivals, and recitals. They are also asked to play in weddings, banquets, etc. She has had many students excel as music majors in college all of whom are thankful for her teaching.
